Spondias dulcis Nutritional Values- Ambarella, has a Latin name Spondias dulcis and commonly known as kedondong is a tropical tree that can reach 15 meters until 20 meters with edible truit containing a hard fibrous pit. This plant have different name in different area, such as kedondong in Indonesia, pomme cythere in Dominica, June plum in Jamaica, golden apple in Barbados, and other else. This plant  usually can be encountered in soil plains and also in tropical climates such as Indonesia.  The ambarella likes a humid tropical climate and will not fruit ib areas tahat receive frosts. Its need a humid climate with aple rainfall to flourish. The propagation usually by seeds which can fruit in 2-4 years.

Spondias dulcis is usually used for food source or eaten raw. In Indonesia, especially in West Java, its young leaves are used to seasoning for ‘pepes’. Commonly, ambarella are used for its fruit. The fruit have acid-sweeted taste. Because of that the fruits is usually made for ‘manisan’ or ‘rujak’.

In 100 grams of the Spondias dulcis’s fruit have 57 calories, 15.5 grams carbohydrates, 1 gram dietary fiber, 8 grams sugars, 1 gram protein, 1% vitamin A, 85% vitamin C, 2% calcium, and 2% iron. The good points of the fruit is no saturated fat, no cholesterol, no sodium, and very high in vitamin C. The bad points of the fruit is very high in sugar (sucrose).
